Effigy

Nomy Lamm’s second solo album, “Effigy” combines original beats, layered vocals, accordion and collaged sound effects, to create a heartfelt goodbye to her hometown and its control over her. Recorded by Pat Maley and released on Yoyo Recordings in 2002. “Effigy” was produced as a touring full-length theatrical rock show in the summer of 2003, with costume changes, backup dancers and headset mike, using the pop format to explore deeper issues of identity, community and growth. It’s been described in turns as spooky, empowering, and danceable.
